Year 7
 
In year 7 students will be given opportunity to:
Work with multimedia applications to present a range of ideas using text, images and sound
Show they understand and are sensitive to the needs of an audience
Explore how to assess the validity of information sources
Process a range of text, information and graphics to meet a given purpose
Explore spreadsheets and formulae
Investigate the use of spreadsheets for modelling real situations and data
Capture, structuring and presenting data
Explore how we input, process and output data

Year 8
In year 8 students will be given opportunity to:
Explore a range of information systems used by the public
Explore how information is published on the internet
Develop concepts regarding the reliability, validity and bias of data
Explore how we can assess information for reliability, validity and bias of data
Develop a more complex understanding of spreadsheets and their use in modelling data
Integrate a range of applications to create a solution to a given problem
Develop their skills at analysing and interpreting data
Develop their ability to draw conclusion and report upon their findings
Year 9
 
In year 9 students will be given opportunity to take part in mini projects which require them to:
Research and assess the suitability of information to meets the needs of users
Use and Integrate a range of applications to provide solutions to a given problem
Identify suitable software to process and analyse the data that they find
Use their analysis to draw a range of conclusions about the data
Report upon their analysis and the conclusions which they are able to draw from them
Defend the conclusions which they have drawn and suggest alternative solutions
Critically evaluate the information that they find and provide alternative solutions to a problem
Justify the methods and software that they have used to achieve their final solution
