The
college gained National Healthy School Status over
two years ago by
promoting a whole school approach to health. We aim
to deliver benefits in the following areas:
Improvement in health and reduced health
inequalities

Raised pupil achievement

More social inclusion

Closer working between health promotion

To gain
the award Brumby Engineering College has to promote
the health and well-being of its pupils and staff
through a well planned, taught curriculum. It does
this in a physical and emotional environment that
promotes learning and healthy lifestyle choices by
addressing four categories:
Healthy
eating: we have introduced excellent eating
facilities within the college where students and
staff can purchase a wide range of meals and snacks
during the day.
Physical
activity: there are many activities which students
and staff can participate and there has been an
increase in the time allocated to PE on the school
curriculum
PSHE:
this curriculum subject looks at personal social
citizenship and health education and students follow
an in depth scheme to promote healthy lifestyles,
developing relationships and working with others ,
economic understanding. self-development and good
citizenship
Emotional health and well-being: keeping safe.
