 Healthy Eating

The college gained National Healthy School Status over two years ago by
promoting a whole school approach to health. We aim to deliver benefits in the following areas:
Improvement in health and reduced health inequalities

  • Raised pupil achievement

  • More social inclusion

  • Closer working between health promotion providers and education establishments

To gain the award Brumby Engineering College has to promote the health and well-being of its pupils and staff through a well planned, taught curriculum. It does this in a physical and emotional environment that promotes learning and healthy lifestyle choices by addressing four categories:

Healthy eating: we have introduced excellent eating facilities within the college where students and staff can purchase a wide range of meals and snacks during the day.

Physical activity: there are many activities which students and staff can participate and there has been an increase in the time allocated to PE on the school curriculum

PSHE: this curriculum subject looks at personal social citizenship and health education and students follow an in depth scheme to promote healthy lifestyles, developing relationships and working with others , economic understanding. self-development and good citizenship

Emotional health and well-being: keeping safe.
