EXPRESSIVE
ARTS YEAR 9 – DRAMA
Pupils will be expected to recognise, evaluate
and extend the skills and techniques they have
developed through drama in previous years.
Use a range of drama techniques, including
working in role, to explore issues, ideas and
meanings e.g. by playing out hypotheses, by
changing perspectives
Develop and compare different interpretations of
scenes and plays by dramatists.
Convey action, character, atmosphere and tension
when scripting and performing plays
Write critical evaluations of performances they
have seen or in which they have participated,
identifying the contributions of the director
and actors
.
YEAR 9 DRAMA AND DANCE
This course is
designed to mirror Expressive Arts at GCSE in
order to enable pupils to make an informed
selection when choosing subjects in Year 10.
This integrates dance/ verbal arts and drama in
a performance and requires written critical
analysis/ evaluation of the pupil’s own work and
that of others.
