- The English
Faculty follows the WJEC (Welsh Examination
Board) syllabuses in both English and
English Literature. This provides students
with the opportunity to gain 2 GCSE grades
in this subject.
- During the
course, students will study:
-
A range
of poetry, both pre and post 1914.
- A selection of prose texts both pre and
post 1914.
Drama texts, both pre and post 1914,
including Shakespeare.
- Students
will also be given the opportunity to write
in a range of styles for different purposes
and audiences.
- During the
course, opportunities are built in for the
development and assessment of speaking and
listening skills.
- Media
Studies is offered to a limited number of
students at the discretion of the faculty.
