Key Stage 3
In design and technology pupils combine practical and
technological skills with creative thinking to design and make
products that meet human needs. They learn to use current
technologies and consider the impact of future technological
developments. They learn to think creatively, solving problems
as individuals and members of a team.
In year 7, 8, and 9 students will rotate around materials areas
on a termly basis. In addition to the materials areas below
students will use a range of design software including 2D Design
and ProDesktop linking to laser cutting, sublimation printing
and 3D Printing techniques.

Design a mirror

Design a bag with surface decoration based on Matisse.
Year 9
Food Technology
Design and make a new scone product
Design and make a pie
Design and make a new biscuit product
Focusing on- Product development and industrial processes and
carbohydrates
Resistant Materials
Design and make an automata
Design and make a jewellery box
Textiles
Design and Make a cushion, focusing on decorative techniques,
appliqué, sublimation printing and embroidery.
